Back in December Karl Lagerfeld took us on the Bombay-Paris express to see the Chanel Métiers D’Art Pre-Fall 2012 Paris-Bombay collection. Earlier this week images surfaced online of the upcoming ad campaign featuring Daria Strokous, styled by Carine Roitfeld and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.
The styling, hair and makeup seems similar to what we saw on the runway. The photos are set in front of a bar that looks luxurious but is not glitzy. The photos are shot in black and white and I like the way the grayscale makes the photos look a bit aged and the poses are reminiscent of dancing Shiva statues. Stay tuned as you’ll be seeing these ads in magazines in a few months.
I was able to find all of the Chanel Spring Summer 2012 Eyewear ad campaign images featuring Linda Evangelista and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. Evangelista looks as stunning now as she did in the ’90s. Check out the images below…
Chanel posted images of the behind the scenes of the Spring 2012 Chanel Eyewear ad campaign featuring Linda Evangelista and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. For a moment I thought Lagerfeld shot the campaign on his iPad but I saw a photo with an actual camera and realized perhaps he was taking personal photos on his iPad. I don’t think the resolution of the photos taken with the iPad would be high enough for print ads. Nevertheless, it’s great to see the team at work and I will say that I would love to have that Chanel logo backdrop as my wallpaper!
Linda Evangelista is the face of the Chanel Spring 2012 eyewear ad campaign. I love this photograph and Linda
Evangelista looks amazing – a bit airbrushed but that’s to be expected I suppose. The photo was taken by Karl Lagerfeld and I love the pop of color with the yellow glasses. My favorite part of the photo is that when I first saw the image, I thought it was an old ad from the late 80s – early 90s. There’s something very classic, almost vintage looking about this photo, yet it’s still modern. I can’t wait to see the rest of the campaign.
I LOVE this campaign. I have to say that I wasn’t that excited about Alice Dellal being chosen as the face of the Boy Bag campaign but I think these images are stunning. Karl Lagerfeld has managed to balance Alice Dellal’s edgy look with a sexy femininity. I love the styling – the bows, pearls, fishnets, the bangles (I NEED) and of course the bags! Chanel is really expanding the Boy Bag offering with different colors and textures. I love the addition of quilting and caviar leather to the center panel of the Boy Bag and it looks like more strap options and sizes are available now. Chanel has developed a micro-site devoted to the Chanel Boy Bag and you can view the whole collection below.

Chanel has linked up with surfer Danny Fuller and Academy Award winning director Kathryn Bigelow for the Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême ad campaign. The stills and film are in black and white and feature Danny Fuller doing what he does best. I especially love the male voice over saying the name of the fragrance – very sexy. I might have to get this for my husband.
The Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême will officially begin to run in April, but Chanel dropped some sneak peeks today. On choosing to work with Kathryn Bigelow, Christine Dagousset, executive vice president of fragrance and beauté of Chanel stated:
Kathryn Bigelow has an amazing vision and ability to direct action-filled moments…In addition to ‘The Hurt Locker,’ she also directed the surf film ‘Point Break.’ She was the best person to direct this type of campaign, especially because of her affinity for the sport of surfing. Because Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême is the extreme version of the classic Allure Homme, the new concentration was meant to be more edgy, avant-garde and take more risks. This campaign does, as well. (WWD).
Chanel nose Jacques Polge created the new scent which has notes of mint, clary sage, black pepper from Madagascar, tonka bean and sandalwood. Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême is available in two sizes: 1.7 oz. for $62 and 3.4 oz. for $84.
The new Chanel Boy Bag ad campaign featuring Alice Dellal and shot by Karl Lagerfeld should be surfacing soon but until then we can get a sneak peek by checking out the behind-the-scenes images of the photo shoot. You can see from the photos that the Chanel team did a great job of balancing Alice Dellal’s edgy look and giving it a feminine Chanel sheen. It’s the best I’ve ever seen her look. What do you think?
