Anyone who has been to Las Vegas will tell you that town is not low on glitz or luxury. Between the neon lights and desert sand, the town is always painted in gold. The Bellagio Hotel is renovating the Chanel boutique in its Galleria and to commemorate this event, Peter Philips has created “gold-plated collection and strews stardust over polyester dreams.”

Las Vegas de Chanel includes four items: Lucky Stripes, a compact with four shades of sand and bronze to be worn on eyes, face or cheekbones; Rouge Coco Shine in Brilliant, a sheer golden lip shade; Le Crayon Lèvres Vegas Gold, a gold lip pencil; and it wouldn’t be a collection without a covetable Le Vernis in Gold Fingers.

The remodel should be completed by the end of this month. I’ll actually be staying at The Bellagio mid-February when I go to some trades hows in Las Vegas and I will definitely check out the new space. And I hope to get my fingers on Gold Fingers!

What happens when you combine neon with Chanel? You get the Spring Summer 2012 collection. These pieces were not on the runway but a Spanish blogger was invited to a press preview in Madrid and posted some great pics of pieces from the 2102 Chanel spring summer collection.

I love the sneakers – especially the high tops – and did you see the tennis balls? So cute, but too cute to actually play with. We also get glimpses of new bags, shoes and neon jackets. It all looks very summery and fun – can’t wait to see it in stores!

Vogue UK announced that Chanel is after all going to release the mysterious white polish seen on models’ fingertips at the Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear show. The white polish now has a name – Attraction – a very fitting name seeing the commotion its caused online. Attraction will release in May. Coco Chanel herself was said to wear gold eyeshadow and red lipstick. It seems the Chanel Holiday 2011 Les Scintillances de Chanel collection hearkens back to the original look Mademoiselle herself favored. The collection is full of limited edition items but if you had to take away the overriding theme – red and gold. When you think about it, around the holidays with lots of parties and celebrations, it doesn’t get more festive than red and gold. And besides, in my opinion red and gold are the best accent colors to Chanel’s signature black and white.

One of the standouts of the collection are the textured pressed powder inspired by a Chanel belt buckle. The collection also includes loose powders, eyeshadow singles, eyeshadow duos, Rouge Allure lipsticks, Glossimers and of course, Le Vernis. The collection should be available in stores now.

Les Jeans de Chanel Debut at Fashion’s Night Out!

I stopped by two of the Chanel boutiques tonight to check out the Fashion’s Night Out festivities – 57th Street and Soho. I went to the 57th Street location first and there was a line out the door before 6 PM when the night officially kicked off. Since I’ve had 3 manicures in 24 hours (manicures seem to be the blogger event du jour) I opted not to have my nails painted. I did however buy the polishes and two more Illusions d’Ombre (because I LOVE them). Afterward, my sister and I headed downtown to Soho and had dinner down the block from the Soho boutique. The line at the Soho store was around the block and it was still very early in the evening. I hope if you ventured out to one of the Chanel boutiques that you were able to get your nails painted. Can’t wait until next year and the next set of limited edition colors!
