CHANEL Tokyo Happening

A few months ago, Chanel opened the doors to its first free-standing beauty store in Tokyo’s Aoyama District. Now, to celebrate the launch and to give U.S. Chanel fans a taste of Aoyama, Chanel has released a small collection called Tokyo Happening. Featuring pastel colors with lots of sparkly shine, the collection include lip gloss, nail colour and highlighter. Originally intended as an exclusive Tokyo product, Chanel made the range available online and it’s been selling out fast. I hope they get more I’d love to get the whole set but would settle for the gold lip gloss and nail polish. I’m not much of a pink girl, but even the pink is really pretty – very gothic lolita! Word on the street is that they may be getting another delivery of product in for the online store so keep checking back!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and while we’re stoked to honor the most important ladies in our lives, let’s be honest – sometimes it’s pretty tough picking out a present for the woman who has everything. Chanel has released Les Noir de Chanel, a collection of dark, seductive lip colors fit for a style maven – or vampire. Inspired by Mlle. Chanel’s love of the color black, the three colors - Maniac, Hysteria and Obscure – coordinate with their nail colors Rouge Noir, Vendetta and Madness. I love the depth of color and the personality these shades evoke. They say that in times of economic crises sales of lip color go up because it’s a more economical way to update a look. V is for Vendetta: Chanel’s Newest Nail Obsession

Last month I wrote about the Chanel Paris-Moscou collection of nail color and I was confused how a royal color such as purple wasn’t included in a collection heavily influenced by the folklore and charm of Czarist Russia. I went to a Chanel boutique a over the holiday break to pick up Or de Russe (“Russian Gold”) and I found my reason why: Chanel DOES have a very regal purple as part of their Spring collection so I guess they didn’t want to double up. It doesn’t matter to me what collection it’s a part of. I’m just happy that Chanel’s newest shade, Vendetta, is here. Vendetta is a gorgeous, deep violet with just the right amount of shimmer. I normally don’t like shimmery nail polish and always opt for matte nail color, but Chanel always manages to give you just a touch of shimmer that’s the perfect amount. And, what a great name! Chanel La Collection Paris-Moscou Nail Colours

Last week we told you about Chanel’s Métiers D’Art Pre-Fall 2009 Collection, inspired by the Russia of the past, and all of its folklore, history and charm. A collection would not be complete without must-have, of-the-moment nail colour by Chanel. For the Paris-Moscou collection, Karl Lagerfeld chose 3 jewel-tones colors “that evoke the riches of the Russian Empire” called: Feu de Russe (“Russian Fire”), Nuit de Russe (“Russian Night”) and Or de Russe (“Russian Gold”). The colors are beautiful and have so much shine that there’s a certain irredescence about them. I always love jewel tones in the autumn, and now ladies, we have the perfect jewel-toned shades for our nails. I wish there was an opulent purple. That’s my only complaint, but I would love to have all of these colors. You can get them online now here and they retail for $30 each.

Chanel Limited Edition Nail Colors

To celebrate the opening of a new Chanel store in Los Angeles next month, Chanel is introducing 4 limited edition nail colors. Inspired by famous streets and the pop-art colors of sunny skies and surf, the polishes are called appropriately enough – Melrose, Rodeo Drive, LA Sunrise, and LA Sunset. The limited edition colors will be available in store and then online beginning in June. I need to get down to LA in May – I really need the Robertson Boulevard purple!

Blue is the New Black

Out with the old and in with the blue…nail polish that is! If you’re a little tired of black or red polish try one of the many blue polishes out that range from from dark metallics to lighter electric blues.

Last year Chanel Black Satin was all the rage and this year Chanel has introduced Blue Satin. Word on the streets is that this pretty blue bottle is selling out fast, so run to a luxury retailer or Chanel boutique near you before it is completely sold out.
