Style.com recently posted close-up images of the Chanel Fall 2012 Runway handbags. From crushed velvet Boy bags to crystalized clutches there are styles for different moods and occasions. This is not my favorite collection, but I definitely appreciate the detail and craftsmanship in each bag. There’s also a very ’90s feel to the collection with the velvet and backpack. Take a closer look – what do you think?
I’ve been sitting on these photos for some time, I must admit that I see a lot more Chanel on the streets but I don’t walk around with my camera and/or phone out all the time so most of the time the Chanels just walk on by… But sometimes, I get lucky like I did at the Alameda Point Antique Fair. It’s hard to know what faux or not – some are definitely fake, and some I just don’t know but I like seeing anything Chanel inspired….

Heritage Auctions has launched its Spring Luxury Auction, a bi-annual major luxury auction, online and bidding is now open. The actual auction will take place on August 29th in New York. If you’ve had access to the internet the last few months then you’ve probably had enough of the the whole Karl called Adele fat drama – I know I have. I didn’t get involved because I was actually amused at the near mass hysteria that Karl’s comments caused. Yes, what Karl said was not well though out or very nice, and yes, Adele could lose a few pounds. Is it any of our business? No.
Fast forward two months and Adele is on a diet and the word on the street is that Karl Lagerfeld apologized to Adele and made a peace offering in the form of Chanel bags. The Sun (not the most reliable of sources) reports:
He told his team to send Adele the best the fashion house have to offer after hearing she collected bags. He said he really wanted to make it up to her so they could maybe work together in the future.
He could see her fronting a campaign for Chanel Mademoiselle bags when the contract with Blake Lively ends. He’s annoyed with himself because he ended up insulting her when he meant to compliment her.
He thinks she’s beautiful and calls her divine.
A Chanel spokesperson would not confirm or deny The Sun’s reports and simply stated “No comment.” Vogue UK
All I have to say is that Karl Lagerfeld can call me fat any day if it means I’ll get some Chanel bags. Just sayin’.
I’ve been covering the behind-the-scenes making of the Chanel Boy Bag spring-summer 2012 campaign, and even saw a short film by Karl Lagerfeld (“My New Friend Boy”) and now we finally get to see the campaign images and collection. The Chanel Boy Bag spring-summer 2012 collection features Alice Dellal and was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.
I LOVE this campaign. I have to say that I wasn’t that excited about Alice Dellal being chosen as the face of the Boy Bag campaign but I think these images are stunning. Karl Lagerfeld has managed to balance Alice Dellal’s edgy look with a sexy femininity. I love the styling – the bows, pearls, fishnets, the bangles (I NEED) and of course the bags! Chanel is really expanding the Boy Bag offering with different colors and textures. I love the addition of quilting and caviar leather to the center panel of the Boy Bag and it looks like more strap options and sizes are available now. Chanel has developed a micro-site devoted to the Chanel Boy Bag and you can view the whole collection below.

Last week Chanel presented its Fall-Winter 2012/13 Ready-to-Wear collection and accessory-wise this was not my favorite show – don’t hate me, I’m just being honest. I found that the cuffs with large crystals sometimes read a little bit New Age-hippy-dippy to me. That said, there were also spectacular pieces like the collars/chest plates, the sexy line of the shoes, the mesh gloves (and the length of the gloves!) and the handbags (not counting the crushed velvet ones). I’m sure as more detailed images are released I will find more to love. For now, we’ll have to content ourselves with these…

Earlier this year we saw the Chanel Métiers D’Art Pre-Fall 2012 Paris-Bombay collection and we recently found some close-up images of the handbags. The detail on these bags is elaborate, elegant and truly captures the artistry of traditional Indian works. The print on the bronze clutch is reminiscent of Mehendi and the silver coin straps, floral details and silver beading recalls details of traditional Indian accessories. See the beauty below…

The new Chanel Boy Bag ad campaign featuring Alice Dellal and shot by Karl Lagerfeld should be surfacing soon but until then we can get a sneak peek by checking out the behind-the-scenes images of the photo shoot. You can see from the photos that the Chanel team did a great job of balancing Alice Dellal’s edgy look and giving it a feminine Chanel sheen. It’s the best I’ve ever seen her look. What do you think?
