Peter Philips strikes again! Not only is he a makeup magician but he seems to have a knack for creating makeup videos. In his latest video, Strike A Pose, Philips updates iconic Chanel images from old Chanel ad campaigns and juxtaposes them with the ads themselves – creating a collage of timeless beauty. It’s a beautiful video and every time I watch it I can’t help but wonder how the model was able to line up the tears so seamlessly.

Kirsten Dunst Wears Chanel on Visit to Turkey
Kirsten Dunst is riding the Chanel wave from the Cannes Film Festival across the Mediterranean to Turkey where she’s been spotted wearing Chanel to two events. Dunst wore Chanel Haute Couture from the Spring 2011 collection to a Courtney Love performance that she attended with Ryan McGinley. She seems to like this collection – because this is the second dress from this collection that she’s worn that features the sheer panels and intricate beading. The delicateness of the dresses complement the delicateness of the actresses features. She also looks really nice in the pale cream/pink/white colors that she’s been wearing.
Dunst also attended a presentation of the Chanel Paris-Byzance Métiers d’Art collection at the luxurious Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel wearing a cream dress from the recent Chanel 2011/12 resort collection shown in Antibes. How wonderful to see the Paris-Byzance collection in the place that inspired the collection! I love this dress – especially the hem and sleeve length – so elegant yet sexy – reminds me of the 1940s. I do however think that the dress might be a little tight on Kirsten in the bust area – either that or the way she’s posing is making the dress bunch up a bit in the neckline area.
I’m wondering if Kirsten Dunst wearing all this Chanel is a prelude to a campaign? I suppose only time will tell…

Chanel Fall-Winter 2011/12 Makeup: Illusions d’Ombre de Chanel
The Chanel Fall-Winter 2011-12 makeup collection called Illusions d’Ombre de Chanel has started surfacing online and it looks lovely. It’s a great match for the dark, smoldering Fall-Winter 2011/12 ready-to-wear collection. The lips and cheeks are pretty neutrals while the eyeshadows are smokey and rich. We’ve seen Le Vernis courtesy of nail artist extraordinaire Sophy Robson and they shimmer like the minerals they are named after. The most exciting part of the collection are individual eyeshadow pots; the eyeshadows have a creamy texture and the colors are gorgeous. They seem like they would look nice on any eye color and I especially love Mirifique (black), Illusoire (eggplant) and Epatant (olive green).

Kirsten Dunst in Chanel Couture & Chanel Beauté
It seems Kirsten Dunst was having a Chanel moment in Cannes from the Chanel couture gown she wore to the amfAR Gala to the Chanel couture gown she wore to accept the award for Best Actress for her role in Melancholia. I love the dress that Dunst wore to the award ceremony, very feminine and detailed. I’m sure upon closer inspection the amount of handwork that is in the bodice is baffling. I also love the tiered flow-y bottom of the dress – there’s a hint of sheerness on the bottom but I don’t mind it because it starts so low. Her makeup for the award ceremony and for the premiere of Melancholia was Chanel Beauté and she looked lovely. Details on how to get the looks are below.

Film Festival Awards:
To complement the award-winning actress’s CHANEL Haute Couture strapless dress, Sabrina created Kirsten’s gorgeous, glowing face using CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rosé Tendre and highlighting her cheeks with CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Écrin (available July 2011), Kirsten’s eyes were adorned with Illusion D’Ombre de Chanel Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Epatant (available July 2011) and her lashes were lengthened with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. Sabrina finished the look with CHANEL Rouge Allure Lipstick in Passion.

Melancholia Premiere:
For Kirsten’s first red carpet appearance at Cannes, Sabrina used CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rosé Tendre to highlight her complexion and CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Écrin (available July 2011) on the cheeks. Sabrina used Illusion D’Ombre de Chanel Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Emerveillé (available July 2011) on the eyelids to create a neutral shimmer, and Precision Eye Definer in Khaki Platine (available July 2011) to define the eyes. To complete the look she used CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir on the eyelashes and applied CHANEL Rouge Allure Lipstick in Enthusiast to the lips.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine “Royallieu” Available Exclusively Online
A few days ago Chanel released a new Rouge Coco Shine shade named Royallieu and it is available exclusively on Chanel.com. The soft pink shade is named after Chateau de Royallieu, Étienne Balsan’s estate where Coco Chanel stayed with him as his lover. Her stay at Chateau de Royallieu was her introduction to society and she began making hats during her stay there. She also met the love of her life, Boy Capel at Chateau de Royallieu. With so many romantic connotations, it’s the perfect color to wear to get ready for some summer lovin’. Rouge Coco Shine Royallieu retails for $32 and is available only online at Chanel.com.

Tried and Tested: Rouge Coco Shine
On Saturday I stopped by the Chanel boutique in San Francisco and I picked up some treats for myself (pics later in the week). While I was there I tested out Rouge Coco Shine. It’s really quite amazing. It goes on as a lipstick, has the coverage of a lipstick, but the moisture and shininess of a lipgloss. It’s like two products – lipstick and lipgloss – in one. I tested a few colors and found that Deauville was probably the best for me since I like to keep things neutral. In fact, most of the colors are pretty neutral and seem like they would flatter many people with different skin tones. If you haven’t tried out Rouge Coco Shine I would definitely check it out. You can find Rouge Coco Shine at Chanel makeup counters or on the Chanel website.
