Keira Knightley in Chanel Couture at London Premier of Never Let Me Go

For the premiere of Never Let Me Go in London, Keira wore a CHANEL Haute Couture gown made exclusively from pearls. Pearls are classic, timeless and chic, I wanted all of these qualities to work with the make up to create and iconic image that would still look current years from now.

Last week, Keira Knightley attended the London premier of her new film Never Let Me Go in a stunning Chanel couture gown made of pearls. Keira is one of my favorite canvasses, she has a magnificent bone structure, and beautiful features, so its always hard to choose which one to play up! I went with eyes, as I thought a strong elegant eye would look great with her new cut. To make it slightly more modern, I used only cream shadows, a mixture of CHANEL Intense Eye Liner in Noir inside the eye and along the bottom and top lash line. I also crept it up onto the outer third of the socket to add depth, after lots of gentle blending I added in Nars creme shadow from the Thebes Duo to the centre of the lid, and also to the brow bone to add a glow and create dimension. Finally, I curled the lashes, gave the lashes a generous coat of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, and then added a few clumps of Ardel lashes in a random pattern. The final effect was dramatic but modern. Her lips were CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Perle, and I sculpted her cheeks with CHANEL Powder Blush in Imprévu.

Keira Knightley, star of the upcoming COCO MADEMOISELLE advertising campaign sequel directed by Joe Wright, wore CHANEL makeup at the CHANEL Spring-Summer 2011 Ready-to-Wear Show in Paris on Tuesday, October 5th, 2010.

Keira looked gorgeous and I love her new bob. I wonder if it was inspired by Coco? Keira’s look was created using the following products – it won’t make us look like her but it will get us as close as we can:

On Tuesday, Chanel had its 2010-2011 Fall/Winter Haute Couture show at the Grand Palais in Paris with an “8-ton, 40-foot-tall golden lion, [with] its paw perched on an enormous pearl” serving as the backdrop. (WWD). The beauty at the show was very classic and simple: soft eyes and cheeks with a strong red lip with nails to match. I think it’s clean look for fall where makeup can tend to get heavy. The overall look is very light but warm enough for the cold months.

Chanel is Bringing Lipstick Back: Vanessa Paradis for Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour

They say lipstick sales are “recession proof” – in fact – sales usually go up. Why? Because it’s an inexpensive way to look beautiful and freshen up your look. Chanel is taking note and bringing lipstick back to a young customer base that is infatuated with lip gloss. This March, Chanel is introducing Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour – and bringing back the lost art of sexily applying your lipstick.

Vanessa Paradis, the French actress (and Johnny Depp’s leading lady) is the face of the campaign and this is not the first time Paradis has worked with Chanel. Andrea D’Avack, president of Chanel Fragrance & Beauté, stated: “Vanessa has been very linked to the house over the years, and she represents a young, sophisticated woman who we also believe will be the consumer for Rouge Coco.” Print and TV ads have been shot though it’s still unclear whether TV spots will be placed in the U.S.

The Rouge Coco line has 30 shades and each hue is named after an influential part of Coco Chanel’s life – Camelia, Mademoiselle, and Paris – to name a few. The shades come in one of four color families Roses-Pinks; Reds-Corals; Violets-Berries, and Neutrals-Browns and will be available in different global markets.

Like many Chanel cosmetics, the packaging takes it’s cue from Chanel’s history with black and gold detailing, interlocking C’s and the Chanel name embossed into each lipstick bullet. The Rouge Coco collection debuts in March with each lipstick retailing for $30 at fine retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Chanel.com.
