Dianna Agron in Vintage Chanel Haute Couture at the SAG Awards

Finally some Chanel Haute Couture on the red carpet! Glee actress, Dianna Agron shimmered in a navy and black vintage Chanel Haute Couture gown. Navy and black is a dangerous combination but when done right it shines – literally. I love the silhouette, the beaded lace overlay, the bow at the waist and the length. Dianna Agron wears it well. She paired her Chanel dress with Ferragamo shoes, Fred Leighton jewels and a Ferragamo clutch. Nicely done!

Vintage Chanel Sale on Swirl.com

Daily Candy’s sample sale website, Swirl.com, is hosting a vintage Chanel sample sale. Curated by A Second Chance, a Lexington Avenue designer resale boutique with a second location in Soho, operated by mother-daughter team Maria Ridolfi and Natalie Rivera, the sale includes jewelry, clothing and bags. The less expensive pieces are already gone but there are still a lot of goodies available. The sale ends on Thursday, January 13th.

Annual Chanel Event at Decadestwo.1

As reported in the LA Times:

On Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Chanel items from the 1990s through present day will be available for up to 70% off retail. Not in the mood to fight aggressive shoppers for the bounty of boucle jackets and quilted bags they’re hoarding? Then you can visit the decadestwo.1 site and shop online from Dec. 11 through Dec. 18.

All I have to say is OMG!

Secrets of the Chanel Handbag – Part 2

The Secrets of the Chanel Handbag exhibit made its first stop in San Francisco this past weekend. The first part of the exhibit explored the process of making a Chanel 2.55 handbag. The other part of the exhibit highlighted vintage pieces. When I heard that vintage pieces would be on view I was expecting a lot more than they actually had on display.

The vintage display was only in one of the store windows and featured two mannequins dressed from head-to-toe in vintage Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. The pieces were amazing and my favorite by far were the clear/black rain boots with chain stirrup detail in the back – TO-DIE-FOR! The gold quilted guitar case wasn’t so bad either. The members-only online store teamed up with Madison Avenue Couture for an exclusive boutique offering an assortment of new and barely used vintage Chanel apparel, footwear, handbags, jewelry and accessories. This is the first time a vintage series is running on a private sale website and Rue La La brings it live to its members this Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. ET. The boutique will run for 48 hours, where members can enjoy prices up to 70% off retail.

Chanel Bags on Fashionphile.com

Chanel bags are as pricey as they come – believe me, I know, I’m still saving up for my first! I want my first bag to be a pristine and brand new black 2.55 Reissue in lambskin (or vintage from the 50s or 60s when Mlle. designed it herself), but that doesn’t stop me from visiting Fashionphile.com every so often to check out what they have in store.

Fashionphile sells gently used luxury items from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès among others. They guarantee the authenticity – which is great – because other sites like ebay scare me.

Today, I needed my daily does of Chanel and I spotted some bags on Fashionphile that I would love to own – my favorite being the pearl evening bag – so perfect in it’s simplicity and so very Chanel!
